The NEC® requires that Weather Resistant Receptacles be installed in wet or damp locations such as porches, decks, and other outdoor locations where challenging conditions can cause premature failure due to cracked covers and corrosion. All Weather-Resistant Receptacles must meet stringent UL listing requirements, including: Ultraviolet light exposure, Cold impact, Accelerated aging, and Proper materials for current carrying parts, wire binding screws, and mounting straps to ensure superior corrosion resistance.
